AI Insists Web3 is Here to Stay
Where did this year go? We are now a quarter of the way through this century. We are just as close to 2050 as we are to 2000! It is time to see if I knew what I was talking about when I penned
The Future Of Niche Blogging: Trends To Watch In 2024
Here are the 6 trends that I saw coming in 2024.
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) – Emphasize using AI as a tool to enhance efficiency in research, SEO, and analytics while maintaining a personal touch. AI should not replace the human element in content but enhance it. – No brainer here!
- Micro-Niches – Advised against rigidly following this trend due to limitations in audience size, scalability, and monetization. Suggested that while micro-niches could be useful for establishing authority, they are not the path to broad or long-term success. – Does anyone still talk about Micro Niches?
- Niche Alchemy – Projection: Recommended following this trend with caution. It involves adapting to audience behavior by blending their desires with the blog’s content but warned against chasing every trend. Instead, integrate changes that align with the blog’s core offerings and values. – Stay in your lane – You Do You but adapt!
- Increasing Multimedia Content – Projection: Encouraged embracing multimedia for engagement but with caution. Highlighted the benefits of increased engagement and SEO but also the challenges like resource intensity and technical barriers. Death by Google’s HCU is real. Stay connected elsewhere.
- Adapting to Technological Innovations – Projection: Stressed the necessity of keeping up with tech trends, particularly AI and analytics, to enrich content and operational efficiency. Suggested maintaining a balance between technology and human creativity. How many AI Image Generators are you familiar with? How many AI Chatbots do you use?
- Staying Competitive in the Niche Blogosphere – Projection: Focused on offering unique, in-depth content, networking, branding, and SEO as key strategies for standing out. Emphasized the importance of a consistent voice and engaging with the audience.
That was a perfect 6 for 6!
Now, as we prepare to look at the top trends for 2025, a lot of it will be centered around AI. Whenever I am introduced to someone, I will eventually come around to, “How Are You Using AI?” People are slowly waking up to the fact that we have a know-it-all as our personal assistant if we care to use it. I am still amazed at how many people do not want to touch AI for fear that it will take over the world. I don’t know about you, but it has taken over mine. My blog topic research is done in minutes versus hours.
For anyone out there who is not a ChatGPT user (you don’t have to be an expert- Yet!), I will warn you again, AI Will Not Take Your Job, People Who Know How to Use AI Will!
On to 2025 Trends that The Amazing Niche Master Sees Coming
Community-Driven Content Creation
What is the one thing that AI still cannot do? Write like a human. Who can? You can, your neighbor can, we all can, so we ask questions and create comments. Bloggers have started taking ideas from User Generated Content (UGC), be it comments, Reddit Questions, Quora musings, or People Also Ask. This is a great source of topics. What is the next step? Bloggers will set up forums where you can ask them for answers. Does anyone still read Dear Abby? I predict that successful bloggers will have their own channels for Answering Questions. This will lead to crowdsourcing ideas to create better blog posts. Get good at answering questions, and there could be a paid service on the horizon.
What is Your Plan? – No seriously “What is Your Plan” is my forum. This was recently set up to discuss options for extra retirement income and to supplement what we make.
AI-Driven Personalization
AI will continue to evolve, offering even more personalized content experiences. As bloggers, we are doing our own A/B testing. OptinMonster is already determining which popup a visitor prefers for you. RankMath is doing the same for SEO and which post to show your visitor next. This personalization increases reader engagement and loyalty. AI will learn to show readers a “stylized:” version of your post. For example, take this post. It is a sea of words, bullet points, and images. AI will be running in the background to determine if you prefer the bullet points, or the words and serve you the version normally respond to. Sort of like the hologram that changes images based on the direction you look at it. As bloggers, we will need to balance AI suggestions with our unique voices to keep content genuine.
The Rise of Niche Social Platforms
As mainstream social media platforms become more saturated and inundated with ads, smaller, niche-focused social media platforms will gain traction. A lot of us have started a community on Facebook or Quora, just to avoid the ads.
Moving forward, the platforms that best cater to our interests and support our niches will see the greatest increase in users. As bloggers, these “niche” platforms will offer more targeted engagement and networking opportunities.
Add that to the lesson learned from Google and their HCU, bloggers need to diversify their traffic strategy. These niche platforms will lead to more dedicated followers. I warn you here, that there may be several “switches” in the platforms we curate our group. We need to be where the people are headed so pay attention to where the niche community is migrating to.
Sustainability and Ethical Blogging
I am not in step with the Climate change crowd. However, I am in step with the Healthy Now crowd. I am in step with the Healthy Now crowd. Niches that support Natural/Plant-based topics will increase. If you can tie in sustainable practices, ethical consumption, or social responsibility within your areas of expertise you will see an uptick in traffic in 2025.
This trend will attract a more conscientious audience and align with broader consumer trends towards eco-consciousness. Bloggers should also explore new monetization strategies like affiliate marketing with sustainable brands.
Augmented Reality (AR) Integration
Ikea has done it. What does their dresser look like in your bedroom? Fashion Bug has too. What does this dress look like on me? Augmented Reality will be integrated into more blogs than ever. Imagine a travel blog where you walk the streets of Santorini. This isn’t a video that you embed and your visitors watch. This is an interactive version of Santorini. Zoom in on the blue roofs, the crescent island, or the fabulous sunsets. AR is enhancing everything.
This will significantly boost engagement by providing a more experiential form of content consumption. Be warned, there is a learning curve, and technology requirement that your current PC/Laptop can handle. Then there will be page speed issues to overcome. AR is on the way, and upgrades will be required.
Decentralized Content Platforms
The synergy between AI’s growth and blockchain’s maturation is making decentralized systems more user-friendly and efficient. Coupled with a cultural shift towards valuing privacy and autonomy, this sets the stage for a resurgence of Web3 platforms. In 2022, Web3 was all the rage but cooled due to numerous “rug pulls” and swindles. However, by 2025, I predict a rebound fueled by these technological advancements.
As a niche blogger, the appeal of Web3 lies in escaping ad-driven, data-hungry centralized platforms. Blockchain offers unique avenues for direct monetization through tokens, NFTs, and DAOs, aligning with the anti-establishment spirit of blogging. This promises a digital space where creators control their content, community governance thrives, and new revenue streams emerge outside traditional models. This evolution could disrupt current blogging paradigms, providing significant advantages for those who adeptly navigate these changes.
