Now, I’m not going to show you how to set the points on that beautiful 1950 Corvette of yours, but I will provide you with a wonderful idea to turn your knowledge of how to set those points into an extra retirement income. 

In doing so, you will be seen as the expert to everyone dealing with this beauty. What brought you to look for “Setting Points” undoubtedly puts you in my generation. Honestly, what would most twenty-somethings know about points, let alone try to set them?

Why Setting Points?

For the answer to this question, we have to thank Merriam-Webster. Life really happens in stages. For many people, the stages of life happen around the dogs that they own. But life stages is an overabundant and very competitive keyword, not to mention that the website was not available. So we jump to Merriam-Webster and the Thesaurus and look for synonyms (means the same, for those punished with a Baltimore City Education) for Stages. We have

• Phases – Didn’t like this one. Freelance Marketing is not a Phase we are going to pass through
• Chapter – How many Chapters of this, that, or the other are there? Nope, Pass
• Places – I have been to many places, Where I Am with Affiliate Marketing isn’t a Place, destination, maybe, place No!
• Point – Now we have something – We are going to set some points out on the not-too-distant horizon.  Setting Points – Now that is the point.

Setting Points is About Helping

As we (yes, I am including myself) start to roll down that hill a little faster toward retirement, we are starting to wonder if we’re going to make it. Did we save enough, did we set aside enough, will we outlive our nest egg? With the current inflation and economic reality, the answer is probably a resounding NO. Thanks, Joe.

So what now? I am staring down retirement. I want something a little more substantial than being a Walmart greeter. Though I truly appreciate them for what they do. Many of them are there, just to get out of the house and see other people. If you are reading this, take two seconds out of your day to say thank you for being here, and mean it. Then tell them about Setting Points! The creation of Setting Points was originally selfish. I knew that retirement was coming at me and honestly did not know if I could do it on what I had set aside.

I joined a program that teaches you to throw as many marketing funnels against the wall as your budget can afford. I know that this approach will work if you can afford the foray. It even worked well until it outgrew my budget. In the end, the return was not supportive of the outcome, yet.

My frugal philosophy drove me to look for an alternative. That alternative was Wealthy Affiliates. At Wealthy Affiliates, they teach building an actual online business through niche creation. Within that grew the concept of Setting Points for the future. A future filled with niche blogging about The Gray Apocalypse, finding 1001 perfectly profitable niches without using a list for anyone caught in this retirement crisis. Once we turn on the Niche Alchemy, we will be turning our life’s knowledge into pure gold.

I will blaze the trail to a wealthy retirement in Freelancing and Affiliate Marketing through Wealthy Affiliate. While doing this, I will be Setting Points along the way so that you will be able to follow in my footsteps.
